This is the JayNaylor.com e-mail FAQ. Here, you can see the kinds of questions I get most of the time, and often don't have the time to reply to, or I find myself replying to repeatedly to different individuals. Before sending an e-mail, check here and see if the question you may have isn't already addressed! Thank you!

Q.) Why don't you reply to your e-mail?
A.) I'd love to, but there is so much for me to do to maintain production schedule, and such a volume of e-mail, that I usually don't reply to fan-mail unless it asks a specific question that needs answering. I do actually read all my fan mail and I greatly appreciate the encouragement it gives me.

Q.) Can you take money for catalog items through the mail or PayPal or any other method?
A.) I do not have the means to create accounts for the catalog manually, so I can't take money any other way. PayPal has a very strict policy against using their service to exchange adult material. Credit cards are also a way of ensuring a proper age for viewing my catalog items.

Q.) Why was my credit card declined for having an invalid address when the address is correct?
A.) Some smaller banks and some foreign banks often do not have address verification technology for their card services, which is a fraud-protection measure used by the company that handles my credit card transactions. Most American banks and large foreign banks that are up to speed, should have this technology.

Q.) Was Better Days ever affiliated with the comic BDK?
A.) As it started out, there was a loose affiliation, even though the comics took place in completely different realities. As BDK became more of an embarassing liability, and its creator devolved his website into a virulent anti-American editorial, ties were severed for the betterment of what would soon become JayNaylor.com, Inc.

Q.) Why did you delete your old VCL images?
A.) I felt it was time to start anew. A lot of it was being lifted, modified, weirded out, and what not, and I felt it best that the old images just go away. I may post new images up there in the future.

Q.) Can you give me any pointers in drawing or writing?
A.) I'm wholey unqualified to do so through the internet. There aren't any magic methods that can be described that will result in skill that's only acquired through years (yes years) of tireless practice.

Q.) I have an idea for a great character for your comics! blah blah blah...
A.) My comics are already written out in advance, sometimes years in advance. Chapters are spelled out in outline form well into the adult lives of the characters depicted. I can't infuse strange characters that I don't have total creative control into my comics. I can't alter story lines to that degree, and I can't indulge everyone who e-mails me with a story idea or a character to use.

Q.) If every species represents a genetic subset of the human race in your Better Days comic, what people do aardvarks represent? Voles? Dik Diks? And American Staffordshire Terriers?
A.) You'll know if I ever talk about them. Until I do, they don't exist in my mind.

Q.) Why isn't there a forum or Yahoo! group for JayNaylor.com and it's comics?
A.) I don't seem to do well in large groups of people all chattering at once, and I'm displeased with the inability of people to be polite and tolerate one another, or express ideas in a non-confrontational or non-insulting fashion. I sort of enjoy being out of the conversational loop, and just retreating to my drawing board to produce things that other people can either love or hate.

Q.) Could you add a link to my comic or web project on your links list?
A.) The links list is there for comics that I enjoy perusing on a regular basis, as well as a list of freinds that I know very well, who have websites of their own. It's not a come-one-come-all listing for anyone to use by request.
